In addition to the economic contribution and participation of the Abbotsford Sikh community, Sikhs also celebrate their religion with the community of Abbotsford. The Sikh religion and culture are marked by their colourful, joyous and inclusive displays.  A focal point for any occasion is the abundance of food that is generously shared with participants and observers of Sikh festivals.

One such joyful celebration for Sikhs is that of Diwali, the celebration of lights. The festival is especially beautiful as it is celebrated by lighting many candles and lights and fireworks.  The most important meaning of Diwali is the triumph of good over evil.  It is also a time for renewing hopes for happiness and prosperity or success in life.
