News01 Abbotsford, B.C. Canada Temple Fracas - The long road to two separate Sikh temples in Abbotsford began in the late 1990s, when tempers flared between the moderates and the traditionalists over an edict from India that furniture should be removed from the dining areas (langar) of the North American temples. Canada The Original  Sikh Temple It is the oldest surviving example (built in 1911) of the temples which formed the religious, social and political centre of pioneer Canadian Sikh communities.
